Hello! Thanks for having me! This is my first blog post and the first guest post on MAB LIBS. I’m psyched.
I’m Gerbs. (Pronounced like “gerbil” not “Gertrude.”) I’m Melissa’s youngest, tallest, and darkest sister. I’m studying to be a dentist in North Carolina and am looking for a no commitment, friends with benefits-esque relationship with a blog. Cha-ching! Here I am.
As the subtitle of MAB LIBS changed from Mommyhood, Music, and Making it up as I go to Candid and crazy, just the way you like it, I saw my opportunity to pounce. I am not a mother, I haven’t studied music since 10th grade, and I know pretty much everything I’ll be doing (exactly) through May 2016. My contributions would not have gone well with the overall theme of the blog. Now though? I can do crazy and candid — that’s for sure.
I’m twenty-two, single, and have been out of college for roughly eight months. I competed in collegiate track and field in the javelin, shot put, and discus. Melissa says she sees signs of an addict when I talk about lifting weights. Hopping to the opposite end of the spectrum, I love beauty magazines, creating food, brewing beer, and the outrageous names of nail lacquer colors. I hope to use my privilege as a guest blogger on MAB LIBS as an opportunity for a bit of creative outlet and to share some of the cool things I learn and experience with all y’all.
Interesting fact of the day: The same temperature receptor that detects heat sends signals to the brain when it comes into contact with ethanol. It’s called transient receptor potential vanilloid 1 (TRPV1.) The whiskey burn finally makes sense.
Until next time,
It’s no wonder booze and fire go together so harmoniously.
