Ooh, it’s December 12, 2012, or 12-12-12, if you’re into that kind of thing. 12 was my youth softball jersey number, so I’ve always liked it more than other numbers. You may even say it’s my favorite number. But my eyes are kinda burning right now, so I’ll make this short. Just wanted to say that my sister Gerbs and I started a 12 Days of Christmas project today. Thought you might like to know.
We’re making a new and different batch of cookies each day until Christmas Eve. Every day we’ll give half the batch to a different neighbor, with whom we never speak (not because we don’t like them, just because we never see them) and try to spread goodwill and cheer through cookies, and freezing the other half for eating at Christmas. Today we made Brown Butter Chocolate Chip cookies from Joy the Baker. They are pretty delish.
For each day of Christmas, we’re taking that number of things out of the house. Brilliant! Today, on the first day of Christmas, we took boxes. Technically, we took more than one box, but we took only boxes, so I’m giving us a hall pass. The number of boxes in the garage was insane. They almost didn’t fit – collapsed – into our minivan. For reals. I don’t know what two things we’re taking out tomorrow, but we’re two things. Purging is so good. Unless we’re talking about bulimia, then it’s not good. But otherwise, so good.
