How many days this week did you do your morning pages?
The same as last week: five of seven days. I gave myself a C+ last week because I accomplished 71% of my intended writing. However, on the suggestion of a friend, I’ve decided to curve it (it was my birthday, after all) and give myself a B+ for this week.
Did you do your artist date this week?
I did, but I cheated a little . . . I took Brian with me. He took me to see Cabaret, which is playing in Cleveland right now, for my birthday. It’s one of my favorite musicals, and frankly, I prefer to see theatre with a friend so that I can talk to someone about the show and our experience afterward. The production was a bit of a disappointment, but I had a wonderful evening with Brian and am glad we went. My inner artist was happy, too.
Did you experience any synchronicity this week?
- A book that I’ve been wanting to read for a while showed up in the bargain section of Barnes & Noble. They practically gave me the book. And my journals were on sale as well. Double win.
- One of the songs that Brian and I are getting ready to record played at yoga twice last week and popped up in my Facebook news feed. Being that this is not an exceptionally popular song, I took notice.
Were there any other issues this week that you consider significant for your recovery?
Well, I kind of need a redo on the exercises for this week because, well, I forgot to do them. They seem to be fun, easy exercises, so I think that I will just incorporate them into this week’s exercises rather than repeating this week. No big deal. More importantly, I truly am feeling happier, more relaxed, and more open to creative possibilities. I feel that I am thoroughly working through whatever block I have, discarding a lot of emotional baggage, and feeling lighter than I have in a while. And it doesn’t feel like a manic lark either; it feels solid, as though this newly uncovered positivity is starting to take root. It’s most certainly a good feeling.
