How many days this week did you do your morning pages?
I did them every day this week. Winning.

Did you do your artist date this week?
Okay, why this one is so hard for me is something I hope to figure out during this process. I wouldn’t call it an amazing first artist date, but I did go to Target, by myself, for no reason other than to look at accessories. I browsed through the scarves and found one that I really liked, so I got it. I also bought myself a chai for no reason other than it reminded me of the holidays and made me feel all warm and happy. I didn’t spend two hours doing this, but it was really nice to spend some time with myself doing something just for fun.

I also spent three consecutive hours reading a book on Sunday afternoon. This, uh, never happens. Reading for hours on end was one of my favorite activities as a child, and as I’ve grown up, it seems to take a backseat to everything else in my life. These days, reading is something that happens during the five minutes between getting into bed and falling asleep. But as soon as Scarlett went down for her nap, I put in some earplugs and read. It was glorious.

Did you experience any synchronicity this week?
Yes, as a matter of fact. I have been wanting to take an acting class for a while now. Needless to say, there aren’t so many options in Ohio on this front. However, a friend mentioned that he is teaching a class this fall, so if all works out as I hope, I’ll be taking an acting class.

Were there any other issues this week that you consider significant for your recovery?
I seem to have a problem with weekends. I’ve noticed that my general mood and positive attitude plummets. Perhaps it’s because the routine that I am trying to establish for myself during the week is disrupted when everyone is here? I don’t know. But I am aware of it, and knowing is half the battle, so now I can do something about it.

Here’s a picture of Zoë for your enjoyment.
