I recently got cast in my first professional film role! I am playing the lead role of Mindy in a three-character short film called George’s Wife. There’s a little bit of everything packed into this 12-page script. Unfortunately, my under-17 friends will probably not be able to see this one, but for you big kids out there, it should be a fun time. We just finished our first weekend of filming and have one more weekend to go. I have already learned a lot from this experience, and I am super-duper excited to see the finished product!
I am also flattered and honored to have been nominated for two acting awards (Best Actress in a Musical and Featured Actress in a Musical) at the Players Guild Theatre for my work as Miss Hannigan in Annie and Vicki in The Full Monty. I had a lot of fun playing both of those roles, and I am sure that I will have lots of fun at the awards ceremony with my fellow actors from the theatre. I’ll also be reprising “Little Girls” for a little year-in-review medley. The 2nd Annual Golden Guild Awards will be at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 23, 2011.
So, this summer is off to a pretty good start! I have many shows to see this summer with friends; some with friends in them, some with friends beside me in the audience. I’m waiting for my voice-over class to get started, which is scheduled for next Wednesday. Yay!
