We’ve had a bit of a rough week here. Scarlett’s teeth are on the way in, and as I had heard and read, just when babies start sleeping through the night, they start teething. Then they stop sleeping through the night. Yep. That about sums it up.
On our last visit to Maryland to see Scarlett’s cousin Bryce, my sister-in-law, Chiara, told me about a teething toy named Sophie. Sophie is a French giraffe. (Apparently, I am the last person to hear about her since she is the “world’s most famous baby teething toy.”) I love Sophie mostly because she’s French. This means, of course, that she must speak to Scarlett in French, or at the very least with a French accent. (My dad is very excited that he can put his French accent to use on a daily basis. There aren’t many French restaurants in suburban Ohio.) She’s also adorable, made of natural rubber, and Scarlett loves her, which makes la girafe worth the $20 (or €16) I paid for her.
